The DSUM publishes the project of the updated Master’s degree program “Conflict Resolution and Mediation” (specialty 054 “Sociology”) and invites everyone to discuss it.

In 2019, the University opened this educational program with the assistance of the British Council in Ukraine.

On April 22-24, 2020, as part of the Erasmus + project “Implementation of Education Quality Assurance System via Cooperation of University- Business-Government in HEIs”, the program underwent a pilot evaluation by experts – project partners.

During the development of the educational program content in the list of general and professional competencies, the review of educational components by the working group took into account the needs of the labor market in the southeast region, opinions of individual experts, the wishes of students expressed during focus groups.

Significant role in updating the content of the program was played by the contacts of the program teachers with the National Association of Mediators of Ukraine, which held a series of webinars (November 11 – December 12, 2020) with American mediators – Richard Hoffman, Eileen Hoffman Ramona Buck, Bruce Waltuck, Daniel Buttry, Sharon Buttry, and also – participation of teachers in open lectures and discussions, organized by the Center for Mediation and Dialogue Research National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy).

The working group in the educational program took into account the stakeholders’ opinions expressed during the expert survey “Business and community demand for educational products of higher educational institutions in Mariupol” conducted by the sociological laboratory of DSUM in April-June 2020, in particular – about the necessity to pay more attention to formation of soft skills of higher education institution graduates.
